Indigenous Representation in Cybersecurity

Updated: Sep 23

What we are doing to increase Native/Indigenous Representation

Native and Indigenous Cybersecurity Education in the Continental United States

Everyone has the right to have access to education and opportunities. One of the prime objectives of TLP White is to bridge the digital divide by providing equal access to technology and cybersecurity education.

Technology and cybersecurity are not just skills; they are the building blocks of modern society, functioning as gateways to safety, social impact, global communication, and endless opportunities. We hope to empower individuals to seize opportunities in the ever-evolving digital landscape, opening doors to lucrative careers and personal growth.

Native/Indigenous community members can offer a profound perspective to leading STEM industry

Diversity and community engagement are at the heart of our approach. We respect and celebrate the rich cultures and traditions of all communities. By fostering inclusivity and collaborating with local leaders, organizations, and mentors, we create a supportive and nurturing environment for all learners.

At TLP White, when we talk about Indigenous representation in information security and technology, we aren’t just talking about ways to increase representation through new recruitment strategies. We are talking about the digital divide, underfunding of tribal colleges, the safety of children, limited access to schools and technology, and areas of the United States that don’t have internet access.

We are talking about the ways in which industry is hampering progress and innovation by leaving out new perspectives and diverse experiences, which are the pillars of creativity and innovation. Because of this, science and progress suffer.
